    Follow these 3 easy steps to get ready;
    1. Neighborhood Schools - Children living in Seattle are guaranteed a seat in their neighborhood (or "attendance area") school based on their address or which school is best able to serve their needs. All Seattle Kindergarten classes are FREE and full day.
    Need to find your neighborhood school? Call 206-252-0760
    2. Learn about our schools - Tours and open houses begin in January. Look for schedules on school and district websites. Call the school to speak with building leaders, PTA members and other families.
    3. Option Schools and Open Enrollment
    To be assigned to a school outside your attendance area - Complete the online registration form. Fill out a "choice" form listing your top school choices. Forms are available in February. Placements are assigned by lottery. Priority is given to forms submitted during the first two weeks of Open Enrollment (February 4-15). Open enrollment continues until May 31. Notification of choice assignments begin in April.

    All registration is completed online. Items you will need include parent photo ID, child's passport or birth certificate, two proofs of home address dated within the past eight weeks, child's immunization record. Exceptions are made for families in transition.
    If you prefer to register in person, you can do so at the John Stanford Center (2445 3rd Ave S) Monday - Friday from 8:30am-4pm. Living in transition and need assistance? Please call 206-252-0660
